'Ram ram japna, paraya leader apna': BRS leader Kavitha's jibe at BJP over horse-trading
While addressing a BRS Party Cadre meeting in Yellareddy constituency earlier today, Kavitha said that the only policy that BJP preaches is "Ram-Ram Japna, Paraya Leader Apna."
By Abdul Basheer: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Wednesday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of intimidating leaders by using central agencies in case it fails in horse trading attempts.
While addressing a BRS party cadre meeting in Yellareddy constituency, Kavitha said the only policy that BJP preaches is "Ram-Ram Japna, Paraya Leader Apna", referring to a popular song from the 1965 Hindi language film 'Do Dil'.
"Where if the party fails in its horse trading attempts, it uses central agencies to harass leaders of opposition parties," she said.
Kavitha, who is the daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, said that the BJP does not have any organisational strength in Telangana and hence, they are misusing their power and money to threaten leaders of other parties to join them.
"We are the people of Telangana, we cannot be threatened - we will fight, win and always be there in service of our people," the former MP from Nizamabad said.
Furthermore, Kavitha also alleged that leaders who have a mass appeal are being harassed by the BJP, especially the popular faces, ministers and MPs of the BRS.
Kavitha also accused the BJP of reducing the beneficiaries of PM Kisan Nidhi that was copied from KCR-led TRS government’s Raithu Bandhu scheme. She said that the saffron party reduced the beneficiaries from 13 crore to a mere 3 crore.
"BJP is more concerned about stunts and PR over the well-being of the masses in our country," she said.
