  • Dehradun received heavy rainfall on Wednesday
  • Due to extreme waterlogging, roads turned into rivers
  • The normal life was thrown out of gear due to incessant rainfall

The roads in Dehradun's Chandrabani Chayola area resembled a river with knee-deep rainwater after the city received a heavy downpour on Wednesday.

Due to waterlogging, a swollen stream was seen on the road, making it difficult for the residents to step outside.

In the videos, water can be seen flowing on the roads, throwing normal life out of gear. The roads are completely submerged in rainwater.

While people waded through knee-high water, cattle were washed away due to excessive rainwater on the road.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted more rainfall in the city in the next few days. The mercury level is further expected to drop.

As per IMD's seven-day prediction, Dehradun is likely to receive heavy rainfall with thunderstorms till September 26.
