A Dravida Munnetra Kazhagan (DMK) councillor's husband in Tiruppur district attacked a school headmaster. The incident took place at the Government Panchayat Union Primary School in the Kaikatiputur area of Avinasi in Tiruppur district. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
A resident living in a property adjacent to the school premises is said to have repeatedly littered the school premises and this has caused concern in the school. Baskar, the resident who lives near the school, dumped the garbage inside the school premises.
Despite repeated requests, he continued littering on the school premises. Recently, when the students had gone to pour water for the saplings on the school premises, Bhaskar allegedly poured sewage water over the school students. He also allegedly chased six of the students.
Based on this, the headmaster, Sentamarai Kannan, lodged a complaint at the Avinasi police station about the incident. The police summoned Bhaskar and reprimanded him.
Durai, the husband of Avinashi Municipality 17-ward DMK councillor, Ramani, recently came to the school and argued with the teachers and parents in support of Bhaskar, who had earlier attacked the students.
In the video which has now gone viral, he can be heard speaking indecently in front of the school children and even attacking the headmaster and holding the headmaster by his neck.
The parents of the students can be heard asking Durai to understand the issue and support them and their children, but the man continues talking in favour of Baskar.
About 70 students were studying at the primary school where the incident happened. The attack on the teacher in front of the school children and parents has not gone down well.
A complaint has been given to the police and an investigation is underway.
