By Ashutosh Mishra: From CBI's action against Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in the liquor scam case, leaked videos of Satyendar Jain from Tihar jail and charges of selling tickets for municipal elections in Delhi, the BJP has started an all-out attack against Arvind Kejriwal's AAP for the upcoming crucial elections. The civic body polls in the national capital has become a battle of prestige for the AAP and the BJP.

The BJP is trying all its best to divert the anti-incumbency against it in this civic body polls. AAP is focusing on the civic issues to achieve its maiden victory in Delhi municipal body polls. So far, the AAP has been focusing on garbage and other civic issues and has now announced to launch a high aggressive campaign from November 25. This includes road shows by party supremo Arvind Kejriwal and several public meetings across the capital.

WHAT IS AAP's STRATEGY FOR MCD POLLS?

The strategy behind this last-minute aggressive campaign is to build momentum from a low-level campaign to a high-decibel election. AAP's top sources believe that it still has an upper hand in the crucial MCD polls due to several reasons, such as BJP's anti-incumbency, Arvind Kejriwal's brand credibility, and the beneficiary of the government's schemes and their grassroot campaign.

Arvind Kejriwal has decided to focus on Gujarat. However, in the last week before the polling there will be several road shows and public meetings by him across them. The top sources in party, while speaking on the recent leakage of Satyendra Jain from Tihar Jail, said, "In the local elections like MCD, such issues being raised by the BJP may extend its sympathy for the Aam Aadmi Party. People are talking about the issues that have to be resolved and the governance model of Kejriwal."

AAP LAUNCHES CAMPAIGN

To counter BJP's accusations on several issues, the AAP has launched its campaign "MCD mein bhi Kejriwal" and "Kejriwal ke Parshad". Almost every second day, the party is carrying out its booth level analysis among the voters by its specialist team. The AAP leadership also believes that the BJP is contesting a local civic election in the line of assembly or general elections, which could be counterproductive as the party calls it a negative campaign.

Against the BJP's offensive escalation, the AAP has totally decided to go on with its positive campaign, local civic issues, and brand Kejriwal's Delhi model. Subsequently, the party leaders in their local meetings have started talking about the governance of the municipal corporation with the Delhi government, which is exactly in the line of BJP's double engine govt.

In a recent video by Delhi MLA and municipal election in-charge Durgesh Pathak said that if there is one party's government in the MCD, then there will be better governance in Delhi That will be helpful in overall governance from municipal body to the state, the AAP leader said.

This has been a key strategy of the BJP in several states, where they say that there is a double engine government both in the state and in the centre. The AAP leadership is constantly keeping a very close eye on every development taking place politically in the national capital and accordingly strategizing their counter to deal with these issues.
