Piaggio rebrands spare parts business

By Auto Today: Leading small commercial vehicle manufacturer Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd on Wednesday announced the rebranding of its spare part business. The company will also set up India's first spare parts shoppees in the three-wheeler commercial vehicle space to ensure delivery of genuine spare parts.

The announcement in this regard was made by the company at its distributor meeting in Pune.

Piaggio will also deploy a renewed distribution architecture for better spare part availability across the country. The company aims to add 100 exclusive spare part retail shoppees.

The newly-announced retail stores will stock genuine Piaggio spare parts for all Piaggio commercial vehicles. Piaggio's original parts are currently marketed under the POP brand name.

"Our superior distribution architecture for Piaggio original parts will ensure greater market penetration and a robust supply chain closer to the customer. This will also ensure genuine and quality spare part availability across various customer segments under one roof. I am also very happy to note that the Piaggio spare parts distribution network has penetrated throughout the country across all the states and union territories and we have connectivity with more than 10,000 retailers and PGOs," said Diego Graffi, Chairman and MD Piaggio Vehicles.

Piaggio's spare parts business is not only on a growth trajectory but continues to be one of its revenue drivers. The new initiatives of re-branding and distribution expansion are expected to further add to the company's growth.

"While the opportunity for business is large, the important part is ensuring customers connect with our business by providing original and quality parts for our customers' vehicles. We have seen a record-breaking spare parts performance in the first half of 2022, in which the distributor after-market business has grown by more than 50%," said Malind Kapur, EVP, Spare Part Business, Piaggio Vehicles.

"This growth is supported by various initiatives both in the front-end marketplace and back-end operations. We intend to continue on this journey of strategic initiatives along with our business partners," Kapur added.
